Joining the library
All staff are entitled to full library membership. Students are entitled to full membership for the duration of their placement with BTHFT. Please complete a registration form either online at http://svy.mk/2mNYRy5 or come in to the library to become a member.
Study space
We offer up to 29 meeting rooms including rooms for private group study. Please check room availability at Field House reception by emailing training.reception@bthft.nhs.uk
Leisure collection
The library’s Leisure section offers a wide range of entertaining titles including novels, biographies, medical humour, popular science and cookery books.
Health and Wellbeing Collection
The library service holds a wide range of fitness and lifestyle DVDs and books on a variety of topics including mindfulness, lifestyle, stress control, stopping smoking, fitness and much more. These can be borrowed or sent on to your place of work. Some staff may wish to use the resources with their patients.

Borrowing rights
You may borrow up to six books for four weeks. Books can be renewed five times.
Computers
There are 20 computers available in the library during opening hours. Wi-fi is also available.

Access to databases, electronic journals and other resources provided for the NHS nationally, regionally and locally can be found at: www.evidence.nhs.uk.
To access these resources an Athens username and password is required. To register, go to https://openathens.nice.org.uk/
Document supply article request service
When the library does not have the article you need, we can request copies for you from the British Library or other NHS libraries. You can fill in the request form here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/BRIRequest
Literature Searches

Library Journals Club
Our Journal Club is open to all health professionals including students and is a fun, informal way of learning critical appraisal skills and finding out more about how to gather evidence to change practice.
